5 Days / 4 Nights — Day by day
Upon arrival in Marrakech you will find our driver waiting. His task will take you to the Riad in the medina. Visit of the city (where the arrival time of the flight permits), accompanied by a tour guide. Night in Riad.
An early start from the Riad for a long day on the road. After breakfast we set off toward Aït Ben Haddou, crossing the Atlas mountain range via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m). After visiting the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate for a lunch stop. In the village of Skoura we visit the Amridil Kasbah, considered one of the wonders of the "Street of a Thousand Kasbahs." The scenic road then leads to the Valley of the Roses and into the Dades Valley. After 20km, the spectacular landscape of Tinerhir village and the Todra Gorge canyon appears. Arrival at the hotel for a typical Moroccan dinner and our first night here.
After breakfast, a walk through the palm plantations of Tinerhir. We then drive to Tinjdad for lunch, crossing further palm groves around Touroug before stopping in Erfoud to visit fossil-processing workshops. From here it's a short drive to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Enjoy the sunset, optionally by camelback, then ride by camel to a true nomad bivouac for the night — music and entertainment guaranteed. A 4x4 desert crossing option is also available for those who prefer not to ride a camel, including a visit to a nomad family to discover their daily life, culture and traditions. Dinner and overnight in tents under a sky full of stars.
An early wake-up before dawn for those who spent the night in the bivouac, to enjoy the desert sunrise by camelback on the way back to the hotel where the driver awaits. We then leave the desert behind, heading to Erfoud via Errachidia and the Ziz Valley. Lunch in Midelt, renowned across Morocco for its apples. In the afternoon we continue toward Fez via the "Cedar Route" through Azrou and the central Middle Atlas mountains, arriving in Meknes in the evening for an overnight stay in a Riad.
After breakfast, a local guide will show you the beautiful monuments of this imperial city: Place el-Hedim, once a lively meeting place for street artists, and the Jewish Mellah quarter to its west. Access to Moulay Ismail's Imperial City is through the imposing Bab Mansour gate, named after its architect — one of the few monuments still fully intact and an adaptation of classic Almohad style with contrasting decorative additions. Nearby stands the smaller Bab Jdid gate in the same style. Inside the medina of Meknes, don't miss the Bou Inania Medersa, a Quranic school built around 1350. Lunch, then transfer to Fez where we arrive in the evening.
